At Cowan Public School we encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities. We have a dance group and choir for students to join according to their interest. 

Cowan dance group

We currently have a dance group operating at Cowan Public School, which rehearses before school one day per week. This is taught by a qualified dance teacher. The dance group performs at the Sydney North Dance Festival held at Glen Street Theatre in Term 2. In addition, they also perform at other festivals, at school during assemblies and special days.

Cowan school choir

All Cowan Public School students are involved in singing lessons by a qualified singing teacher in their class groups.  In addition, all our students have the opportunity to join the school choir which meets once a week and performs at the end of year presentation night, other school functions throughout the year, as well as festivals and music events.

Cowan Band

Students in Years 2-6 have the opportunity to join our School band.  A band lesson is conducted each week.  Our students also have the opportunity to learn an instrument at private tuition classes run after school.  Our band performs at various school functions and outside in the wider community.
